School-Home Support are delighted to announce that we have been awarded £750,000 over the next three years from The Julia Rausing Trust to launch and deliver our Practitioner Service in Birmingham and expand our reach in Manchester.
The Julia Rausing Trust provides grants to British charities in memory of Julia Rausing, who co-founded The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust in 2014 and was instrumental in building it into one of the largest philanthropic funds in the country.
Nearly 1 in 5 pupils in England are persistently absent from school, meaning they are missing more than 10% of their education and severely affecting their future life chances.
This grant will allow us to widen the support available to young people across Birmingham and Manchester, working with the whole family to solve the underlying causes of persistent absence, and get children back into school and ready to learn.
“We are extremely grateful to The Julia Rausing Trust for this generous grant. It will be truly transformational for thousands of families and we are excited to have the opportunity to partner together to improve the life chances of disadvantaged children and young people across Birmingham and Manchester.”
