1. This privacy policy applies only to the actions of SHS and Users of SHS services and users with respect to this Website. It does not extend to any websites that can be accessed from this Website including, but not limited to, any links we may provide to social media websites.
Controllers of Information
School-Home Support is required to maintain certain personal data about individuals and organisations for the purposes of satisfying operational and legal obligations, specifically in relation to the Data Protection Act 2018 and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). SHS recognises the importance of the correct and lawful treatment of personal data in its role as Data Controller and the role of Data Protection Officer is held by the Head of Operations (email: catrin.doe@shs.org.uk).
We aim to process information about you fairly and in a transparent manner and the aim of this document is to provide you with sufficient information for you to be able to understand what we are doing with your data. Prospect Research
The use of publicly available data sources in our activities to conduct Prospect research is necessary for our legitimate interests to identify potential supporters to enable us to reach more children into school, ready to learn.
Example public data sources used include Public Registers such as Companies House and Charities commission; Professional directories and subscription databases; Print and broadcast media; and Internet sites and professional social media platforms.
Where we find mutual interest in supporting children and families, we use the information collected to inform a tailored first contact to introduce our charity. Contact details used will be those publicly available and those approached as a result of Prospect research will be given the opportunity to decline further contact or to take up the invitation to explore next steps together with appropriate consent in place.
This approach to conducting Prospect research in-house ensures compliance and that we are respectful of an individual’s right to privacy. We only contact those who we believe would want to know about ways they could help more children and families by supporting our charity.
